Date
09/03/2024

In the context of the current edition of Fabulamundi. Playwriting Europe, on March 9, the Polish playwright Ewa Mikuła will give a playwriting workshop to the members of the current edition of Els Malnascuts. Taking advantage of the fact that in this edition we want to carry out a scenic creation based on the play Happy Days by Samuel Beckett, Ewa Mikuła will propose several writing exercises around this work and Beckett himself.

Ewa Mikuła is a Polish playwright and director. She has a degree in Theater Studies (specialty: performance studies) from the Jagiellonian University and Theater Directing (specialty: dramaturgy) from the AST National Academy of Theater Arts in Krakow.

As a playwright she has collaborated with directors of state theaters as well as with independent initiatives, producing texts such as the autobiographical Praca, praca (2020), Stracone lata (Gdańsk Shakespeare Festival, 2021), Opowieści blokowe (Wrocław Puppet Theater, 2022) . She has also directed the documentary work Dorosłość (2023) in Divadlo Ludus (Bratislava), based on a three-year documentation process with young people and adults about alternative methods of education.

In 2022 she became a participant in the Future Laboratory, a European project focused on missing narratives and social integration, in the context of which she carries out research on the topic of local identity and ethnic minorities.
