Anna Breckon and Nat Randall

Anna Breckon and Nat Randall are interdisciplinary artists that work at the intersection of theatre, film, and performance art. Their works to date include Set Piece, The Second Woman, Rear View, Piece of Work, 3 Scenes and On Record. Their critically acclaimed The Second Woman has been presented around the world and is to be presented at Holland Festival and GREC Festival de Barcelona in June and July 2024.

Nat Randall has presented work at major institutions, galleries and festivals nationally and internationally. In 2019 Randall, Breckon and Performing Lines were nominated for a Helpmann Award for ‘Best Production of a Play’ for The Second Woman. Randall is a founding member of art collective Hissy Fit and performance collective Team MESS. Through these collaborations she has presented work extensively across Australia. Randall studied at the University of Wollongong where she developed a breadth of performance practice including devised work, site specific practice and participatory work. Randall is currently on the Artistic Directorate at PACT Centre for Emerging and Experimental Artists.

Anna Breckon is an independent artist, film studies scholar and critic. Anna has worked as a director and writer for various projects presented at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Performance Space, Dark Mofo, Perth Festival, Adelaide Festival, Rising Festival, Sydney Festival, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Weiwuying: National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, LIFT Festival and The Young Vic. Anna has a PhD in queer and feminist film theory at The University of Sydney. Her thesis considers queer forms of happiness in a selection of contemporary auteur films. Anna has published on John Waters (2013) and Todd Solondz (2018) in Screen (Oxford University Press) and on Elizabeth Berkely’s performance in Showgirls (2024, Indiana University Press).
