Braian Kobla
He is a playwright and stage director.
His plays have received recognition in countries such as Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Chile and Cuba. His play No hay nada más hermoso que acariciar algo quieto was awarded a grant for creation from the National Fund for the Arts, won the first prize in the National Library of Spain’s competition for Young IberoAmerican Playwriting and obtained an honourable mention at the Germán Rozenmacher Award for New Playwriting, organised by the International Festival of Buenos Aires. His play Oveja perdida ven… was part of the International Festival of Buenos Aires, the IberoAmerican Festival of La Rioja (Spain), the International Santiago Off Festival (Chile) and was awarded for Best Playwriting by the Young Art Biennale of Buenos Aires. He was regisseur for the opera La voix humaine by Jean Cocteau, staged at the Teatro Mayor in Bogotá in co-production with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá (Colombia) and the British Council. His plays have been published by the La Comuna publishing Company and the Instituto Nacional del Teatro, and have been translated into English and Portuguese by the publishing company CPTM – Galpão Cine Horto (Brazil). He is currently delivering seminars at different theatre venues and institutions in Latin America and Europe.
