Eu Manzanares

Actress and playwright. She graduated in Acting from Eòlia, and continued training in different techniques and disciplines at other schools and centres, such as the Obrador de la Sala Beckett, where she trained in playwriting. As a playwright, she had her premiere in 2015 at the Tantarantana with Una paret blau-cel. In 2017, she premiered Deixalles at the Teatre Eòlia. One year later, she wrote IDOTI IRANTI, a text selected by the AADPC’s Staged Readings Season, winner of a Tísner Scholarship, premiered at Llevant Teatre and with which she took part in the Staged Readings Season at the Sala Beckett in June 2020. In December 2019 she premiered Lo Nuestro at the Sala Flyhard, which won the Prize for the Best Original Play at the Barcelona Theatre Awards 2020 and was nominated for the Butaca Awards 2020 as Best Small-Format Show. In 2020, she won the Carme Montoriol Playwriting Scholarship with El mestre i el mar and participated in the 10th edition of the Temporada Alta Playwriting Tournament. In April 2021 she was chosen to be part of the 9th SGAE Playwriting Workshop and in May she premiered Frank at the Teatre Lliure. She has also written audiovisual and film scripts, such as the short film HUMMUS, selected at various Festivals (such as Mecal, the Cerdanya Film Festival and Madriff), and she is co-scriptwriter, co-director and co-main character in the webseries Glòria.
