Jan Vilanova Claudín

Jan Vilanova studied cinema specialising in production at the ESCAC. He also holds a degree in History from the University of Barcelona.

Over the years he has combined his work as a producer with the writing of plays.

In 2013, together with a group of friends, he created the theatre production company Sixto Paz Produccions. The company has had an output of eleven productions in five years, many of them premiered at the Sala Beckett. Highlights among the plays produced include Pulmons, hISTÒRIA and Tender Napalm. In the majority of projects, he worked as assistant director or dramaturg.

As a playwright, he has premiered Bruno & Jan (& Álbert), hISTÒRIA (Serra d’Or critics prize 2017), Dybbuk, Oscuridad and Así bailan las putas.
