Javier Daulte
Javier Daulte is a scriptwriter, playwright and theatre director. He was a founding member of the now dissolved Caraja-ji group from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He has received over eighty distinctions in both the national sphere and from outside the country. His works, all considered dramatic comedies, have contributed to the renewal of the theatre of Buenos Aires in Barcelona, introducing into his plots fantastic and genre elements into a hyper-realist construction which is manifested through agile and credible dialogues. Among his creations it is worth highlighting Criminal, La Escala Humana, Bésame Mucho, 4D Òptic, Ets aquí?, Nunca estuviste tan adorable, Automàtics, La Felicitat, Com pot ser que t’estimi tant, Tres dones i un llop and Proyecto Vestuarios.
He is a prominent director thanks to his stagings and precise directing of actors. He has directed texts by other playwrights to great success, such as Baraka, Un Dios Salvaje, Espejos circulares, Lluvia Constante, Filosofía de vida, Mineros and El hijo de P#!@ del sombrero.
He is educational advisor of EÒLIA, where he teaches his method for actors under the name Daulte Procedure.
Between 2006 and 2009 he was Artistic Director of La Villarroel.
He has received numerous prizes and distinctions, prominently including the Ciutat de Barcelona Prize 2006, the Konex Platinum Prize for the best theatre director of the decade 2001 to 2010 and various Golden Aces.
