Jordi Faura

(Sabadell, 1982)

Author, playwright and director. He studied Stage Directing and Dramaturgy at the Institut del Teatre and the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III, among others; acting at the IT and the Col·legi del Teatre, and Philosophy at the UB. He has written some fifteen works and has adapted for stage works by A. Camus, J. Anouilh, H.G. Wells and Quim Monzó. He directed some ten shows, among which opera Alba Eterna, with how own libretto and own texts: La fàbrica de la felicitat, Hikikomori and Ser un altre. He has also directed texts y other authors such as La Sorra and l’Acadèmia by J. Brossa and El nou ordre mundial by H. Pinter. He has been director’s assistant to Calixto Bieito and Sergi Belbel.

Among other prizes, he has received the III Premi de Teatre Ciutat d’Alzira, the XXII Premi de Ciutat de València, the V Premi Ramon Vinyes, the VI Premi Bartrina, the Premi al Millor Espectacle and Premi al Millor Director at the X Mostra de Teatre de Barcelona, has been nominated for the Premi Butaca al Millor Text and was runner-up for the XXXII Premi Born.
