Magdalena Barile

(Italy, 1978)

After gaining her Secondary School Diploma in Classics and a one-year-stay in London, in 2001 Magdalena Barile obtained a Diploma in Dramaturgical Writing at the Accademia d’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi. She lives in Milan where she has been working as scriptwriter for Italian Swiss Television (RSI) and is a writer for several drama and comedy productions for Italian broadcasters. As a playwright, she has written several plays and frequently joins forces with a number of theatre companies –amongst others, Accademia degli Artefatti (Rome) and Animanera (Milan)– that share an interest in innovating in contemporary writing. Since May 2013 she has been teaching dramaturgy at the Accademia Paolo Grassi.

A staged reading will be held at the Sala Beckett of Barile’s Llum o de les potencialitats lluminoses del cos humà as part of the events for Fabulamundi, during the 9th edition of the Obrador d’estiu (2014).
