Marta Aran

Actress, director and playwright.

A graduate in Performing from the Institut del Teatre. She completed her training in drama at various courses at the Sala Beckett. As an author, she has premiered at the Sala Flyhard La noia de la làmpada (2017) and Els dies mentits (2019), the runner-up text of the Recvll de Blanes Prize 2018. In 2018 she came second in the VII Temporada Alta Catalan Playwrighting Tournament (2018) and took part in the Transatlantic Tournament in Buenos Aires, as a representative of Catalonia. In 2019 she received the Carme Monturiol award from the ICUB for her play Narcisos.

Among her work as an actress, highlights include Sota la ciutat, directed by Llàtzer Garcia (Teatre Lliure, 2016), Petits Monstres, directed by Marilia Samper (Villarroel, 2015) and La Pols, directed by Llàtzer Garcia (Sala Flyhard, 2014; La Villarroel, 2015, and Teatro Fernán Gómez, Madrid, 2016), among others.

As a director, she has directed Els últims de Filipines by Javier Sahuquillo at the PIIGS Festival and, at the Sala Flyhard, La noia de la làmpada, of which she is also the author.
