Veikka Heinonen

Veikka Heinonen is a Finnish playwright and dramaturg. He graduated from the Theatre Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki, in 2022 with a master’s degree in dramaturgy and playwriting. In his practice, Heinonen is interested in how art and theatre can critique, reconcile, and reveal various shortcomings in society through laughter and absurdity. He has written plays for theatres all over Finland. Since 2019, he has been working as a dramaturg for the Finnish Broadcasting Company, where he has contributed to multiple audio and television productions. His play Kaksi Sisarta (Teatteri Vanha Juko) was nominated for the Lea Prize for the best Finnish play of 2022.
