Vickie Donoghue

Vickie Donoghue’s debut full-length play, Mudlarks, was developed through High Tide’s Escalator Programme and produced by The Bush, following its premiere at the 2012 High Tide Festival. Other plays by Vickie include Tender Loving Care (New Theatre Royal Portsmouth, 2014), Game Over (The Garage, Norwich; The Cut, Halesworth; both 2014) and Aperture (Live Lunch – Royal Court, 2015). Hidden, a stage adaptation of the novel by Miriam Halahmy, toured throughout the South East of England in the autumn 2018. Vickie’s first Radio play, The Gift, produced by David Hunter for BBC Radio 4, was broadcast in September 2018. Her 10-part Podcast drama The Piper, co-written with fellow playwright Natalie Mitchell and produced by Somethin Else for BBC Sounds, was broadcast in November 2020. She is currently adapting a novel for the stage for The Queens Theatre, Hornchurch. Vickie is Paines Plough’s playwright Fellow 20/21. Her play The Electric (Paines Plough and The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama) was performed in March 2021 and is due to be broadcast nationally in May 2021. Vickie was longlisted for the Evening Standard Theatre Awards as Most Promising New Playwright 2012 and in 2013 was shortlisted for the Royal National Theatre Foundation Playwright Award.
