Wolfram Lotz

Wolfram Lotz was born in Hamburg in 1981 and grew up in the Black Forest. He writes theatre and radio plays, poetry, and prose and has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Audience Prize of the play competition at the Berlin Theatertreffen 2010, as well as the Kleist Foerderpreis 2011, for Der Grosse Marsch. The original Burgtheater production of The Ridiculous Darkness [Die Laecherliche Finsternis] was invited to Theatertreffen Berlin as well as to Muehlheimer Theatertage in 2015, and was named best play at the 50th Belgrade International Theatre Festival – Bitef. Theater Heute magazine named him ‘Emerging Playwright of the Year’ in 2011 and ‘Playwright of the Year’ in 2015. His last play is Die Politiker [The polititians], premiered in the  Deutches Theater in Berlín in 2019. His plays have been translated into over 15 languages.
