Fabulamundi 2017-2020
2017-2020 edition
Fabulamundi. Playwriting Europe is a project involving cooperation between theatres, festivals and organisations from 10 European countries (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, United Kingdom, Czech Republic and Romania) which has the following objectives:
- Promoting European playwriting and giving support to the work of authors of contemporary theatre in all countries, through the circulation of plays, the implementation of artistic residencies, and the production of shows or performances based on the translated texts.
- Giving support to the cultural organisations involved that organise the residencies and productions, with special emphasis on their audience development actions.
- Promoting the exchange of information in the sector, supplying professionals and artists with online tools that support the circulation of their works, as well as the implementation and expansion of an online catalogue of authors and works.
With the support of the European programme Creative Europe, the current edition of the Fabulamundi project began in May 2017 and will run until November 2020. Under the theme ‘Beyond Borders?’, the participating theatres and institutions will organise productions of plays for theatre, staged readings, artistic residencies for authors, workshops and chats open to the public, among other activities.
The Sala Beckett/Obrador Internacional de Dramatúrgia will make available to the other project partners the works of 10 Catalan authors: Marc Artigau, Carles Batlle, Clàudia Cedó, Guillem Clua, Ferran Joanmiquel, Josep Maria Miró, Esteve Soler, Victoria Szpunberg, Helena Tornero and Joan Yago.
